Focus on health-related applications with this Cannabis Therapeutics microcredential! You will study the biochemistry and pharmacology of cannabis, touching on its molecular mechanisms of action, toxicity, and potential therapeutic uses. You will gain a general understanding of the complex interactions between the active compounds in cannabis and the endocannabinoid system of the human body. Successful completion of this fully online microcredential prepares you for continued study and readies you to apply for positions in medical dispensaries, product development, and other work centered in the use of cannabis in healthcare as well as advanced cannabis research. Please note that this microcredential is open to those with a basic background in chemistry. Also note that there is a related microcredential. With the addition of one more course (offered on campus), you can also earn the Introduction to Cannabis Chemistry microcredential.
